Cómo leer la tabla

  1. 1Find your age group and sex, then see which column your value falls into.
  2. 2A lower value usually means better cardiovascular fitness, though a very low rate can also relate to medication or rhythm disorders.
  3. 3In the fjt time model the reference resting heart rate is 62 bpm: every beat below it counts as time gained, every beat above as time lost.
  4. 4If you are consistently above 100 bpm, or below 50 with fatigue or dizziness, see a doctor.

Preguntas frecuentes

What is a normal resting heart rate?

For healthy adults 60–100 bpm is considered normal; 40–60 bpm is also normal for regularly trained people.

Why is it slightly higher in women?

On average the heart is smaller, so stroke volume is lower and it beats slightly faster to move the same amount of blood.

How do I lower my resting heart rate?

Regular aerobic training, enough sleep, lower stress, good hydration and quitting smoking lower it over weeks.

Is a high resting heart rate risky?

A persistently high resting heart rate is a cardiovascular risk marker and should be investigated.
